In the 15th century, in Central Asia, the ruler of the Darebey Khanate, Adalet Khan, had two sons — the wise and brave Hozu, and the cunning Karabugday. Seeking to seize the throne, Karabugday kills their father during a hunt and blames Hozu, who is imprisoned. Under Karabugday’s incompetent rule, the khanate weakens, and famine and chaos spread.
