On April 15 at the cinema "28 Cinema" screened the film "The Last Letter" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the battle of Canakkale.

Representatives of the state and government, deputies of Milli Majlis, representatives of the public attended the screening.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Social and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov read the message of the Head of State Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the presentation of the film "The Last Letter".

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Joshkun expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the attention shown. The ambassador noted that this attention of the President is another evidence of the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood.

Speaking of the bloody battles that occurred at Canakkale, the diplomat said: "Today we remember one moment of the struggle that took place a hundred years ago not for life, but for death." Recalling that in this battle the Turkish soldiers showed courage, the ambassador noted that the sons of Azerbaijan were nearby, fought along with them. Pointing out that throughout history they drew strength in Azerbaijan, Ismail Alper Joshkun thanked everyone who supported the presentation of the film.

The scriptwriter and director of the film Ozkhan Ehren, the starring actress, who is of Azerbaijani descent, Nezrin Javadzadeh, talked about the process of working on a screen product. The actress stressed that she is proud of the fact that the film is represented in the city where she was born and grew up.

The script of the film is prepared on the basis of the letter of the Battle of Canakkale, which has survived to the present day. The screen product, starring Tansel Ongel, Nesrin Javadzadeh, Husein Abni Danyal, Bulent Shakrak, Narmin Huseynova and Barbara Sotelesek, tells the story of pilot Salih Ekrem and a nurse named Nihal. In the most difficult days of the war, they took care of a lonely child named Fuat. This child, nicknamed "Kichik Gazi Fuat" becomes the only witness to the great love of Salih Yuzbashi and Nihal.
