CinemaPlus celebrates Memorial Day with the screening of the film "Old Suitcases"

On September 27, there was private screening of the film "Köhnə çamadanlar" (Old suitcases) about the First and Second Karabakh War in the premium class cinema "CinemaPlus", located in the shopping center "Ganclik Mall" devoted to the Day of Memory.

Before the screening of the film, devoted to the Day of Memory of the Martyrs, the creative team of the film, real heroes and veterans of the Second Karabakh War, spoke and shared their feelings. The main characters of the film suffered the brunt of those events on their own shoulders and who knows, if not them, what war is.

People's artist Mammad Syafa, who played the character of martyr’s father in the film, as well as participants in the First Karabakh War Aliya Piriyeva, Kamala Gakhramanova, Khanimzer Hasanova and Mahabbat Pashayeva, as well as veterans of the 44-day Patriotic War, spoke about what they experienced, what feelings, thoughts they had, how to go through the pain for the loss of loved ones, for their home, for their Motherland.

They said that they still bear the brunt of the war, both physical and spiritual burden, and all the frames of what is happening in front of their eyes until now. The merciless war left a deep mark on their lives and thanks to such films, they hope that the future generation will understand what our land went through, what loss they experienced and cherished the world that now reigns thanks to these people.

The movie is based on real facts. It tells about the fates and tragedies of women of the first and second Karabakh wars, with a difference of almost 30 years... there are soldiers, mothers of martyrs, sisters, wives, doctors, prisoners and refugees amongst those women who were and are the victims of Armenian aggression and war. Different stories, united by the same drama, taking place against the backdrop of the war, in difficult psychological conditions, but most importantly - always with confidence and trust in Victory!

Director and author of the project is Saida Hagverdiyeva, scriptwriter is Sevda Soltanova, director of photography is Shahmar Safaroglu, production designer is Afshan Asadova, composer is Vugar Jamalzade, editing director is Rza Almasi Pegru, art director is Tahir Aliyev, general producer is Pervina Ismayilova, producers are Kamala Neymatova and Nijat Mammadov, editor is Hamida Rustamova, managers are Aynura Alekperova and Gular Malik.

Starring characters are People's Artists Mammad Safa, Parvana Gurbanova, Honored Artists Gulzar Gurbanova, Shafag Aliyeva, Nasiba Eldarova, actors are Zemfira Abdulsamedova, Zumrud Gasimova, Ulviya Aliyeva, Zulfiya Gurbanova, Oksana Rasulova, Zulfiya Nazar Mammadova, Rada Nasibova, Zarina Gurbanova, Aygun Fatullayeva, Turkai Jafarli, Kenul Gasimova, Samimi Farkhad, Agil M.

Guliyev, Namig Agayev, Vugar Hajiyev, Javanshir Maharramov, Rasmiya Nurmamedova, Gyzylgyul Guliyeva and others.

The film, along with professional actors, starred participants in the 44-day Patriotic War, military personnel serving in the Border Troops of the State Border Service, as well as talented people with disabilities.

Filming of the movie jointly produced by RS Production, the inclusive theater “OYUN”, the Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity “DOST” and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan had been started in the fall of 2021.

Support in the organization of the event was provided by the restaurant "MADO", photography by the creative company "Light in Black" and "Strafor kesim".

We would like to note that the film will be shown in all “CinemaPlus” cinemas starting from September 29.
