CineMastercard has opened a cinema directly in the departures area of Heydar Aliyev International Airport. This new format for the cinema chain allows passengers to combine travel with watching films, making their time at the airport more comfortable and enjoyable.
The cinema features one screen, where passengers can enjoy family and adventure films without leaving the transit area. As a result, waiting for a flight or spending time during a connection can become an enjoyable part of the journey.
“The desire to make cinema part of the journey opens up new opportunities for audiences — even in the most unexpected points along their route. Airports are places where people often spend a considerable amount of time waiting for their flights. That waiting time can be transformed into an enjoyable and fulfilling leisure experience,” said Zaur Darabzadeh, General Director of the CineMastercard cinema chain.
We would like to highlight that all screenings will be free of charge for passengers.
The opening of the cinema marks another step for CineMastercard in developing modern moviegoing formats and creating new experiences for audiences.
The area is used by approximately 3.8 million departing passengers annually, while more than 373,000 transfer passengers passed through it during the first eight months of 2026. The new cinema is designed not simply to help passengers pass the time while waiting, but to turn it into a more comfortable and engaging part of their journey.
