"Rumors that CinemaPlus and Park Cinema have something they can’t share and have a conflict are not true."
This was stated by Zaur Darabzadeh, the general director of the cinema network "CinemaPlus".
According to him, on the contrary, "CinemaPlus" actively cooperates with all the cinemas, closely communicates with their administration and periodically invites the heads of competing cinemas to their closed evenings and presentations.
"Regarding the issue that some films are shown in one cinema network, and not the other, it is connected with the fact that each cinema has its own repertoire planning, which is made several months in advance. Before releasing films on screen, some local filmmakers do not consult with movie theaters in advance. Therefore, there is sometimes an overlap in repertoire planning. In this regard, the absence of any domestic film in the repertory grid is quite normal, "- said the general director.
He noted that CinemaPlus has always supported, and will always support the domestic cinema:
"This can be seen just by looking at the official website of the cinema, where you can easily notice the diversity of a range of Azerbaijani films. There are a number of reasons and evidence for this. It can be noted that the film "Ali and Nino" was shown only in the CinemaPus cinema network. Other cinemas did not find it financially profitable to roll this movie.
The rights to own the latest successful domestic projects, such as "Bayram axami" and "Stalinin Başı" were acquired by the rental company, which gave the rights to display these films to CinemaPlus on the basis of a more favorable commercial conditions for them."
Zaur Darabzadeh stressed that CinemaPlus is the only cinema network that invests in the development of domestic dubbing and pays several daily sessions for these films:
"Other cinemas, considering such projects unprofitable, do not accept such content, despite the fact that dubbing is done by professionals at the studio "Cinemazadeh". It is very important for us to give an opportunity for the Azerbaijani viewer to watch their favorite foreign films in their native language. "
He recalled that "CinemaPlus" is also the first network that opened a modern, 5-room cinema outside of Baku, in the city of Ganja.
"This project will give be a great catalyst to the development of the cinema culture not only in the capital, but also in other cities of Azerbaijan," said the general director of the cinema network.
