CinemaPlus holds a meeting with actors and actresses of "Ali and Nino"

On October 5, CinemaPlus located on the 3rd floor of Ganjlik Mall, hosted a press conference with the participation of the creative team members of the film "Ali and Nino".

The press conference was attended by the film’s lead actress Maria Valverde, producer Chris Tikye, scriptwriter Christopher Hampton, actors - Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Mehriban Zaki, as well as Numan Akar, Parviz Mammadzayev, Jumshud Zeynalov.

According to Maria Valverde, it was her first time to play the role of a Caucasian woman. The actress admitted that she was glad to be able to return to Azerbaijan and feel at home here.

When asked by media representatives about the most memorable moments during the filming process, Numan Akar noted that the film is filled with interesting events, and therefore it is difficult to point one single moment.

The film's screenwriter, Academy Award laureate Christopher Hampton said that the events described in the work are very intense.

According to producer Chris Tikye, in mid-November the film will be presented in Los Angeles (USA). Also, presentations of the film in other countries are planned.

During the press conference, Mehriban Zaki, Parviz Mammadzayev and Jumshud Zeynalov talked about the images they embodied in the film.

The executive producer of the film "Ali and Nino" is the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, the producer is Chris Tikye, the director is BAFTA Award holder Azif Kapadia, the author of the script is Academy Award laureate Christopher Hampton.

Screened on the basis of the world best seller - the novel of the same name by Kurban Said - the film tells about the Azerbaijan’s struggle for independence and the love of two young people of different faiths at the beginning of the 20th century. The film was shot in 2015. Filming was conducted in Baku - on the streets of the historic Old Town and in various places of the capital, as well as in Gobustan, Khinalig and others.
